Why do I love blogging so much? The reason I love blogging so much is because it is a multi-faceted marketing tool that can be used for a variety of different purposes. To me blogging is like play-doh, you can shape it and mold it to fit your needs.

Need to spread the word about an upcoming event? A blog can do that for you.

Want to highlight new products and services to your customers? A blog can go in-depth about your new product or service before it is even launched!

Want real-time feedback from your customers? A blog can serve as a two-way communication portal between you and your company.

I just listed off three functions that a business blog can do for you off the top of my head. Blogging is a tool that every small business should be using to compete in today hyper-competitive marketplace. If you do a quick Google search of your competitors you are going to notice that many of them don’t have blogs!

This is a distinct advantage that you can gain over your competitors. They don’t understand the value a business blog, but you do! There are numerous studies sighting how many business leads you can attract by simply having a blog.

I strongly believe that blogging can help any business large or small grow their customer base. I would like you to ask yourself this question.  How do most customers find your business? Word of mouth, direct mail, online ads or a Google search?

For a small business, there are two effective ways to grab the attention of potential customers. It is true that word of mouth is very effective at bringing in customers.  Did you know that  85% of small businesses rely on word of mouth to grow their business? With nearly 60% of customers finding businesses through search engines, the question now becomes how can I get them to come to my website instead of my competitors? The answer is blogging my friend. A blog allows your website to stay fresh and up to date with industry news and commentary.
